How do I know which glove size to choose for an infielder?

Most adult infielders utilize glove patterns ranging from 11.25 to 11.75 inches. Second basemen and shortstops generally favor 11.25 to 11.5-inch gloves with shallow pockets for swift double-play transfers, while third basemen often prefer 11.75-inch models for extra reach and pocket depth against hard-hit line drives. This 12-inch Wilson A500 is ideal for youth infielders and outfielders.

What is the difference between Right Hand Throw and Left Hand Throw?

Glove orientation is designated by the hand used to throw the ball. A Right Hand Throw (RHT) glove fits on the left hand, allowing your dominant right hand to throw. This Wilson A500 is a Right Hand Throw model, designed for players who throw with their right hand.

Is this Wilson A500 glove suitable for Indian playing conditions?

Yes, the Wilson A500 glove is crafted from durable top grain leather that holds up well. For humid Indian climates, store the glove in a cool, dry place with silica packets to prevent mold and maintain its structure. Its lightweight design is comfortable for extended play.

How to buy an original Wilson A500 baseball glove in India?

All customs duties and Indian import taxes are pre-paid by crowcrowcrow and included in the listed INR price. This Wilson A500 glove is sourced directly from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners, ensuring it is factory-sealed and imported per-order for authenticity. It ships via ExpressBox tracked delivery.

What is the break-in level of the Wilson A500 glove?

The Wilson A500 glove is designed with a soft break-in level, meaning it's crafted from top grain leather that offers a comfortable feel right out of the box. This encourages proper technique and repetition, allowing young players to focus on making clean transfers instead of fighting a stiff glove.

Can I use this glove for softball?

While this Wilson A500 is designed for baseball, its 12-inch size and H-web can be adaptable for some youth softball positions. However, dedicated softball gloves often have deeper pockets and slightly different sizing to accommodate larger softball dimensions. For serious softball players, a specialized softball glove is recommended.

What is the warranty on this Wilson glove?

This Wilson A500 glove comes with a 1-year limited manufacturer warranty against defects. CrowCrowCrow covers any damage or wrong item received upon delivery under our 14-Day Smile Guarantee. Please note, the warranty covers manufacturing defects, not wear and tear from regular use.

Ideal for Young Infielders & Outfielders

This 12-inch glove is best suited for youth players aged 8-12 who play infield positions like shortstop or second base, or outfield. Its shallow pocket and H-web are designed for quick ball transfers, crucial for double plays. Players who throw right-handed will find the glove fits comfortably on their left hand. Those seeking a glove for a first baseman or a catcher should consider larger, deeper pocket models. For players with very large hands or those in advanced leagues, a pro-stock model might offer more customization and durability.

How to use

Inspect the Glove — Unpack your Wilson A500 glove and check for any damage. Ensure the Quick Fit wrist closure is loose enough to slide your hand in comfortably.
Insert Your Hand — Slide your non-throwing hand into the glove's pocket. Adjust the Quick Fit wrist closure by pulling the strap to achieve a snug, secure fit that moves with your hand.
Practice Catching — Begin by tossing a baseball into the glove's pocket. Practice closing your fingers around the ball, aiming to keep it secure. Focus on using the glove's natural shape and the H-web to guide the ball.
Break-in and Maintain — While soft, continued use will further shape the glove. For humid Indian weather, store in a dry place with silica packets. Periodically condition the leather to maintain its suppleness and prevent drying.
