How do I know which glove size to choose for an infielder?

Most adult infielders (second base, shortstop, and third base) utilize glove patterns ranging from 11.25 to 11.75 inches. Second basemen and shortstops generally favor 11.25 to 11.5-inch gloves with shallow pockets for swift double-play transfers, while third basemen often prefer 11.75-inch models for extra reach and pocket depth against hard-hit line drives. This Rawlings Renegade 11.5" glove is well-suited for first base and infield play.

What is the difference between Right Hand Throw and Left Hand Throw?

Glove orientation is designated by the hand used to throw the ball. A Right Hand Throw (RHT) glove fits on the left hand, allowing your dominant right hand to throw. A Left Hand Throw (LHT) glove fits on the right hand for players who throw with their left hand. This Rawlings Renegade glove is specifically for Right Hand Throwers.

Is this Rawlings Renegade glove suitable for Indian playing conditions?

Yes, this Rawlings Renegade glove is suitable for Indian playing conditions. While leather requires care in humid climates, its durable construction is designed for regular play. Store in a cool, dry place and use leather conditioner periodically to maintain its shape and prevent mold. The glove is imported from the USA, ensuring authenticity and quality.

How long does it take to break in this Rawlings Renegade glove?

This Rawlings Renegade glove is designed to be game-ready, with a 90% factory break-in and requiring only 10% player break-in. This means it's already partially shaped and softened, allowing for quick adaptation to your hand and playing style with minimal effort.

Ideal for Infielders, Consider Alternatives If...

This 11.5-inch glove is best suited for adult first basemen or players needing a reliable, game-ready glove for recreational baseball or softball. It's ideal for those who prefer a glove with a significant factory break-in. Players seeking a glove specifically for outfield play might prefer a larger model (12.75"+). Those requiring a glove with a very stiff, pro-stock feel that needs extensive player-led conditioning might consider other models, as this one prioritizes immediate playability.

How to use

Inspect and Condition — Upon arrival, inspect the glove for any shipping damage. While game-ready, apply a small amount of quality leather conditioner to the palm and pocket, working it in gently to enhance suppleness and longevity.
Shape the Pocket — Place a baseball or softball in the pocket and close the glove around it. You can use a glove mallet or gently squeeze the pocket area to help mold it to your preferred shape for better ball security.
Wear and Play — Wear the glove on your non-throwing (left) hand. Practice catching ground balls and fly balls, focusing on closing the glove smoothly. The 10% player break-in will occur naturally as you play.
