How do I install these Metallor humbucker pickups on my electric guitar?

Installation involves connecting the pickup wires to your guitar's controls. The neck pickup has 50mm spacing and the bridge has 52mm. These pickups are fully wax potted and come with mounting rings and screws for a direct fit on most electric guitars. If unsure, consult a guitar technician for professional installation.

What is the difference between ceramic and Alnico magnets in guitar pickups?

Ceramic magnets, used in these Metallor pickups, generally produce a brighter tone with more treble and midrange, and higher output. Alnico magnets typically offer a warmer, more vintage sound. Ceramic magnets are often preferred for higher-gain applications where clarity and power are essential.

Will these humbucker pickups fit my electric bass guitar?

These humbucker pickups are specifically designed for electric guitars. While some bass guitars use humbucker-style pickups, the string spacing (50mm neck, 52mm bridge) and DC resistance (15.05K/15.3K) are optimized for standard electric guitars. For electric bass guitars, it's recommended to use pickups designed for bass scale lengths and string spacing.

Are these pickups suitable for a beginner electric guitarist in India?

Yes, these pickups are a good option for beginner guitarists in India looking to upgrade their instrument's sound. They offer a noticeable improvement in tone and output over stock pickups and are designed for easy installation. The brighter tone from ceramic magnets can be very effective for rock and blues genres.

Who Should Choose These Pickups & Who Should Consider Alternatives

These pickups are ideal for guitarists seeking a brighter, more aggressive tone with higher output, especially those playing rock, metal, or blues. They are a great choice for upgrading standard humbuckers on LP-style guitars or similar models. Players who prefer a warmer, vintage Alnico tone might find these too bright. If your guitar has non-standard pickup routes or requires specific active electronics, consult a professional before installation.

How to use

Prepare for Installation — Ensure your electric guitar is suitable for humbucker pickups. Identify the neck and bridge pickup positions. Disconnect the old pickups' wires carefully. The new set includes mounting rings and screws.
Wire the Pickups — Connect the new Metallor pickups' wires to your guitar's volume and tone controls according to a standard humbucker wiring diagram. The neck pickup (15.05K) is typically wired to the neck position, and the bridge (15.3K) to the bridge position.
