• Select the Right Grit — For initial shaping or removing old finishes, start with coarser grits (e.g., 80). For smoothing before painting, use this 120 grit. Always progress to finer grits (220+) for a smooth finish.
• Attach to Sander or Block — If using a power sander, ensure the sheet's hole pattern aligns with your sander's dust extraction ports. Secure the sheet firmly to the sander pad or a sanding block for even pressure.
• Sand with Even Pressure — Apply light to moderate, even pressure. Sand in the direction of the wood grain or metal surface. Avoid excessive pressure, which can create deep scratches. For power sanding, move the sander in consistent, overlapping strokes.
• Clean Surface and Progress — After sanding, wipe away dust with a cloth or vacuum. Inspect the surface for smoothness. If needed, repeat with the same grit or move to a finer grit for a smoother finish.
