DR Strings Pure Blues Bass Guitar Strings Light 40-100 (0.24 lb / 109 g) | Quantum Nickel Wrap Wire

• Quantum Nickel wrap wire gives you the best of both worlds — the warm, smooth tone and comfortable feel of pure nickel fused with the snap, brightness, and output of stainless steel. No compromise, just tone.
• Round core construction delivers stronger fundamentals and a more responsive feel — the preferred build for players who want deeper resonance, wider dynamic range, and a string that reacts to exactly how hard or softly you play.
• Compression winding gives you a faster, smoother feel with dramatically reduced finger noise — DR winds each string at tension so your action stays clean and your playing comes through without unwanted string squeak getting in the way.
• Built for every playing style — whether you're working a funky slap groove, driving with a pick, or laying down a smooth fingerstyle line, Pure Blues strings deliver full bottom, colorful mids, and bright, articulate highs across any rig.
• Boutique-grade and handmade in the USA since 1989 — every set is hand-wound to DR's exacting standards, trusted by virtuosos like Victor Wooten, and built to deliver richer tone and longer life than mass-produced alternatives.

• Prepare Your Bass — Remove old strings carefully. Clean your bass guitar's fretboard and body to ensure a fresh surface for the new strings. Check that your tuning pegs are in good working order.
• Install New Strings — Unpack the DR Strings Pure Blues set. Starting with the lowest pitch string (E string), thread the ball end into the bridge. Wind the string around the tuning post, leaving a few wraps, and tune to pitch.
• Tune and Stretch — Tune all strings to standard pitch. Gently stretch each string by pulling it away from the fretboard. Retune and repeat stretching until the strings hold their pitch reliably. This helps them settle faster.
• Play and Adjust — Play your bass guitar to test the tone and feel. Adjust string height (action) or intonation if necessary. Enjoy the balanced tone, resonance, and smooth feel of your new DR Pure Blues strings.
