• Ensure the adult cuff (10-16 inch circumference) is clean and dry. Place it snugly on the bare upper arm, about 1-2 cm above the elbow crease, with the artery indicator label aligned over the brachial artery. — Prepare the Cuff
• Close the chrome-plated brass screw-type valve on the inflation bulb by turning it clockwise. Squeeze the bulb rhythmically to inflate the cuff until the gauge reads approximately 300 mmHg or 30-40 mmHg above the expected systolic pressure. — Inflate the Bulb
• Slowly open the valve by turning it counter-clockwise to allow air to escape at a controlled rate (about 2-3 mmHg per second). Listen for the pulse and note the systolic pressure when you first hear it, and the diastolic pressure when the sounds disappear. — Deflate and Read
• Record the readings. Once measurement is complete, fully open the valve to release all remaining air. Remove the cuff and store the sphygmomanometer and cuff in the included nylon zippered carrying case for protection and portability. — Record and Store
