How do I switch between speed and cadence modes on the Magene S3+ sensor?

To switch modes, you need to remove and then re-install the pre-installed CR2032 battery. This action toggles the sensor between tracking speed and cadence. For simultaneous speed and cadence data, you will need to purchase and use two separate Magene S3+ sensors.

Can I connect the Magene S3+ sensor to multiple devices at once?

When using the Bluetooth protocol, the Magene S3+ sensor can only connect to one app or device at a time. However, when using the ANT+ protocol, it can be connected to multiple devices simultaneously, offering greater flexibility for your training setup.

How do I find and connect the sensor to my cycling app?

When using a smartphone app, you must search for the Magene S3+ sensor directly within the app's device settings. Searching for the sensor through your phone's system Bluetooth settings will not work. Ensure the sensor is woken up from its sleep mode before searching.

Does the Magene S3+ sensor work for both indoor and outdoor cycling?

Yes, the Magene S3+ is designed for both outdoor road cycling and indoor use on spinning bikes or trainers. Its IP66 water-resistance rating makes it suitable for various conditions, including sweat and light rain.

How long does the battery last on the Magene S3+ sensor?

The sensor automatically enters a sleep state after one minute of inactivity to conserve power. While a specific battery life in hours isn't provided, the included CR2032 lithium metal battery is designed for extended use, and the sleep function helps maximize its lifespan.

What is the best way to use the Magene S3+ sensor for accurate cycling data?

For accurate speed and cadence data, ensure the sensor is properly installed and woken from its sleep mode. If you need both speed and cadence, use two sensors. Connect via the cycling app, not the phone's system Bluetooth, and utilize ANT+ for multi-device connections.
