This adapter requires manual adjustment for both exposure and focus, as it does not have electrical contacts. Automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other electronic functions will not operate. This adapter is designed for photographers seeking to expand their lens collection and explore new creative possibilities with their Canon cameras.
Who It's For vs. Who Should Skip It
This adapter is perfect for Canon DSLR users who own M42 screw mount lenses and want to adapt them for infinity focus and manual shooting. Photographers seeking a hands-on, creative process and willing to manually adjust settings will find this valuable. Skip this adapter if you require autofocus, auto-aperture, or any electronic communication between the lens and camera body. It is not compatible with mirrorless cameras unless they have an EF/EF-S mount adapter already attached.
