What MERV rating should I choose for my air handler?

MERV 13 filters, like these from Filterbuy, capture 98% of dust, smoke, and allergens, making them excellent for homes with respiratory sensitivities or concerns about air quality. For standard dust filtration, MERV 8 might suffice, but MERV 13 offers superior particle capture. Always verify your HVAC system's compatibility to ensure adequate airflow.

How do I pick the right filter size?

Measure the filter slot in your furnace or air handler, or check the size printed on your current filter. These Filterbuy filters have a nominal size of 20x25x2 inches, with an actual size of 19.50" x 24.50" x 1.75". Ensure these dimensions match your system's requirements for a proper fit and optimal performance.

How long do Filterbuy MERV 13 air filters last?

These filters are designed to last up to three times longer than fiberglass models, with a recommended replacement interval of every 90 days for optimal performance. The durable construction and dense media help maintain air quality for extended periods, reducing the frequency of filter changes.

Are these filters suitable for Indian homes?

Yes, these MERV 13 filters are ideal for improving indoor air quality in Indian homes, especially those with central AC systems or imported HVAC units. They effectively capture dust, smoke, and allergens common in many Indian environments. All customs duties and GST are included, with delivery via ExpressBox tracked shipping within 12-14 days.

What is the difference between MERV 13 and lower MERV ratings?

MERV 13 filters offer significantly higher filtration efficiency, capturing smaller particles like smoke, bacteria, and fine dust (98% capture rate) compared to lower MERV ratings which primarily catch larger particles like lint and dust. This makes MERV 13 ideal for allergy sufferers and those prioritizing a healthier indoor environment.

Filterbuy MERV 13 air filters offer advanced protection against common airborne irritants like dust, smoke, and allergens. Designed for optimal airflow, they ensure your HVAC system runs efficiently while delivering cleaner air. The robust construction and long-lasting media provide reliable performance, reducing the need for frequent replacements. Imported directly from authorized US retailers, these filters offer a premium solution for maintaining a healthy indoor environment, with all customs duties and GST pre-paid for a transparent purchase experience.

Ideal For Allergy Sufferers, Who Should Consider Alternatives

These filters are highly recommended for households with allergy sufferers, respiratory sensitivities, or those concerned about smoke and pet dander. They are suitable for most standard residential and commercial HVAC systems. Individuals with very old or low-airflow blowers should verify system compatibility before purchase, as MERV 13 media is denser. For those seeking basic dust filtration without specific allergen concerns, a lower MERV rating might suffice, but MERV 13 provides a significant upgrade in air quality.

How to use

Identify Airflow Direction — Locate the arrows printed on the frame of the Filterbuy air filter. These arrows indicate the direction of airflow from your HVAC system.
Remove Old Filter — Carefully slide out the old air filter from its slot in your furnace, air conditioner, or HVAC system. Note its size and orientation for reference.
Insert New Filter — Insert the new 20x25x2 MERV 13 filter into the slot, ensuring the airflow arrows point in the same direction as the old filter (towards the furnace/blower).
Schedule Replacement — Mark your calendar to replace the filter every 90 days for optimal performance and to maintain air quality, or sooner if it appears visibly dirty.
