• Prepare Your Guitar — Ensure your 7-string electric guitar is clean. Remove the old strings carefully, noting the winding direction of each string. Check that your tuning pegs are in good working order.
• Install New Strings — Unpack the Ernie Ball Power Slinky strings, identifying each gauge and its corresponding position. Thread the plain strings through the bridge and up through the tuning post, leaving enough slack to wrap around the post. For wound strings, thread through the bridge and then the tuning post.
• Tune and Stretch — Begin tuning each string to its correct pitch. As you tune, gently stretch each string by pulling it away from the fretboard a few times. This helps the strings settle and reduces tuning instability. Re-tune as necessary until the pitch is stable.
• Trim Excess String — Once tuned and stretched, carefully trim any excess string length from the tuning posts using string cutters. Ensure the trimmed ends are not sharp and do not interfere with other strings or tuning pegs.
