What is the difference between phosphor bronze and 80/20 bronze acoustic strings?

Phosphor bronze strings deliver a warmer, mellower tone and tend to hold their sound over time, while 80/20 bronze strings produce a brighter, crisper tone when freshly installed. The choice depends on the tonal character you prefer for your playing style. Elixir NANOWEB Phosphor Bronze strings offer a balanced, rich tone with enhanced longevity.

Which gauge should a beginner choose for acoustic guitar strings?

Beginners often start with extra-light or custom-light gauges because they require less finger pressure and are easier to fret. Medium gauges, like the Elixir 13-56 set, offer more volume and sustain but need stronger fingers. As your hands build strength, you may transition to medium gauges for a fuller sound.

How long do Elixir NANOWEB coated strings last compared to uncoated strings?

Elixir NANOWEB coated strings are designed to last significantly longer than uncoated strings, often maintaining their tone for 3-5 times longer. This is due to the advanced coating that protects against corrosion and debris, which are accelerated by sweat and humidity common in India.

Are Elixir strings suitable for humid Indian weather conditions?

Yes, Elixir strings with NANOWEB Technology are specifically designed to resist corrosion from sweat, humidity, and rust. This makes them highly suitable for India's diverse and often humid climate, ensuring they maintain their tone and playability for longer periods compared to uncoated strings.

Can I use Elixir NANOWEB strings for electric guitar?

No, Elixir NANOWEB strings are specifically designed for acoustic guitars. They are made with phosphor bronze wrap wire and are not suitable for electric guitars, which require different types of strings (e.g., nickel-plated steel) for optimal sound and performance.

About this item

Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings with NANOWEB Technology deliver a rich, full-bodied tone and sparkling clarity that lasts significantly longer than standard strings. Imported from authorized US retailers, these strings are engineered to resist corrosion from sweat, humidity, and rust, ensuring a consistent, fresh-out-of-the-box sound for musicians across India.

Crafted with phosphor bronze wrap wire, these medium gauge (13-56) strings provide a comfortable, smooth feel, reducing finger fatigue during long playing sessions. The advanced NANOWEB coating protects the entire string, including the gaps between windings, preventing debris buildup that deadens tone. This means fewer string changes and more time connecting with your music.

Compared to many local alternatives that may corrode faster in humid Indian climates, Elixir strings offer superior durability and tone longevity. All customs duties and GST are pre-paid and included in the listed INR price, with delivery via ExpressBox tracked shipping to your pincode.

Why choose this product

Superior Tone Longevity & Durability

Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings are engineered for the longest-lasting tone, a critical advantage for musicians in India where humidity can quickly degrade standard strings. Our proprietary NANOWEB Technology coats the entire string, shielding it from corrosion, sweat, and environmental contaminants. This means your guitar sounds its best for weeks, not days, reducing the hassle and cost of frequent string changes. Unlike many local strings that may lose their brightness quickly, Elixir strings maintain their rich, full-bodied tone and sparkling clarity, allowing you to focus on your playing.

Ideal for Indian Musicians vs. Local Options

These medium gauge (13-56) phosphor bronze strings offer a comfortable, smooth feel, making them suitable for players of all levels, especially those who find uncoated strings harsh. While local string brands might offer lower upfront costs, their susceptibility to India's humid climate often leads to faster corrosion and tonal degradation. Elixir strings provide a more reliable, long-term investment, delivering consistent performance and superior sound quality that justifies the premium. Skip strings that dull quickly; choose Elixir for enduring brilliance.

How to use

Remove Old Strings — Carefully detune and remove the old strings from your acoustic guitar, ensuring you do not damage the bridge or tuning pegs during the process.
Install New Strings — Thread each new Elixir string through the bridge and secure it. For the tuning pegs, wind the string evenly, leaving enough slack for a few wraps around the post.
Tune and Stretch — Tune the guitar to standard pitch. Gently stretch each string by pulling it slightly away from the fretboard and retuning. Repeat this process until the strings hold their tuning reliably.
Enjoy Extended Play — Play your guitar! Elixir NANOWEB strings are designed to maintain their tone and playability for significantly longer, providing a consistent sound for practice and performance.
