How do I ensure these lids will securely fit my existing takeout containers?

Match the exact rim diameter in millimeters and compatible ounce capacity specified by the container manufacturer, as edge lip profiles vary across commercial packaging lines. These Devitre lids are designed for TO82 jars with a 71-72 mm opening diameter.

Are these disposable takeout lids safe for microwave reheating?

These Devitre metal lids are heat-resistant up to 100°C and suitable for pasteurising, but are not designed for microwave reheating. Microwave use can damage the sealing compound and potentially warp the lid. Always remove lids before microwaving food.

Can I use these Devitre lids for storing oily contents like sauces or oils?

Yes, these lids are suitable for oily contents from 488 ml volume. They create a secure, airtight seal that is ideal for antipasti, sauces, oils, and other specialty items, preventing leaks and maintaining freshness.

What is the difference between these Devitre lids and local Indian alternatives?

Devitre lids are imported and offer verified heat resistance up to 100°C for pasteurising and a consistent airtight seal. Local alternatives may vary in material quality and sealing performance, potentially not withstanding pasteurisation temperatures as reliably.

Unlike generic lids that might offer a loose fit or degrade under heat, these metal lids are tested to withstand temperatures up to 100°C. The classic red and white checkered design also adds a charming aesthetic, perfect for gifting.

Ideal for Home Preservers, Skip if...

These lids are perfect for home cooks, DIY enthusiasts, and small-batch producers in India looking for reliable sealing for canning, preserving, and storing oily goods. They are particularly suited for jars with a 71-72 mm opening. Skip these if your jars have a different mouth diameter or if you require lids for extremely high-temperature industrial processing beyond 100°C. Also, consider standard food-grade plastic lids if metal contact with highly acidic contents is a concern for extended storage.

How to use

Select the Right Jar — Ensure your jar has a TO82 mouth with an opening diameter between 71-72 mm. These Devitre lids are specifically designed to fit this size for a secure seal.
Fill and Seal — Fill your jar with your chosen contents, leaving adequate headspace. Screw the Devitre lid on tightly to create an airtight seal. For hot-fill preservation, ensure contents are heated appropriately before sealing.
Process or Store — If pasteurising, follow standard canning procedures, ensuring the temperature does not exceed 100°C. For storage, place the sealed jar in your pantry or refrigerator. The secure seal protects against spoilage and leaks.
