80/20 Bronze, commonly referred to as brass, is the original acoustic string alloy selected by John D'Addario Sr. and John D'Angelico in the 1930s. 80/20 Bronze strings are popular for recording due to their crisp, deep and projecting tone and appeal to many traditionalists and vintage enthusiasts for their historical significance. • Remove Old String — Carefully unwind the old string from the tuning post. Gently pull the string out from the bridge pin or tailpiece, ensuring not to scratch the guitar's finish.
• Install New String — Thread the ball-end of the D'Addario BW027 string into the bridge. Secure it with a bridge pin. Thread the other end through the tuning post, leaving enough slack for a full wrap.
• Tune and Stretch — Wind the string onto the tuning post until it's taut. Tune the string to the correct pitch. Gently stretch the string and retune to help it settle and hold pitch.
