• Bates putty knife is built to last, with a blade that resists wear and corrosion, ensuring longevity and consistent performance over time.
• With its simple design and smooth surfaces, the putty knife is easy to clean, allowing for quick maintenance and readiness for the next job.

• Prepare the Surface — Ensure the area to be repaired is clean, dry, and free of dust or loose debris. For larger holes or cracks, ensure they are properly prepped for filler application.
• Apply Putty or Compound — Scoop a small amount of putty or joint compound onto the blade. Hold the knife at a slight angle to the surface and spread the material evenly, pressing gently to fill the imperfection.
• Smooth and Finish — Use the flexible edge of the blade to smooth the applied material, feathering the edges to blend seamlessly with the surrounding surface. For larger applications, multiple passes may be needed.
• Clean the Tool — Immediately after use, wipe any excess material from the blade and handle with a damp cloth. This prevents material from hardening on the tool, ensuring easy maintenance and readiness for future use.
