The Arches Standard: Heritage & Performance
Since 1492, Arches has set the benchmark for fine art papers. This 100% cotton, hot-pressed pad is engineered for artists who demand superior absorbency, color brilliance, and resilience. Its pH-neutral, gelatin-sized core prevents over-saturation and allows for repeated corrections, a critical advantage over standard wood-pulp papers. Experience the difference that centuries of papermaking expertise bring to your watercolor, gouache, ink, and acrylic creations.
Who It's For vs. Who Should Skip It
This paper is perfect for professional artists, serious hobbyists, and students aiming for archival quality and precise control in their wet media work. It excels with detailed illustrations, controlled washes, and techniques requiring color lifting. Skip if you prefer a heavily textured surface (consider Arches cold or rough press) or if you are on a very tight budget and only need paper for casual sketching where extreme longevity isn't a priority.
