Engineered for Safety and Versatility
This AOKWIT 50kN Figure 8 Descender is built with 7075 aircraft-grade aluminum for maximum strength and durability. Its bent-ear design is a key innovation, allowing for increased friction control during rappels and significantly easier, safer lock-offs. This means more confidence when hanging mid-air for work or to admire scenery. The thick body construction is designed to minimize rope abrasion, protecting your gear. It's suitable for a wide range of activities, from recreational rock climbing to technical rope rescue and even aerial silk performances, making it a versatile addition to any climber's or rescuer's kit.
Who It's For vs. Who Should Skip It
This descender is perfect for experienced climbers, mountaineers, cavers, and rescue professionals who need a reliable, high-strength belay and rappel device. It's also suitable for aerial silk artists requiring a secure anchor. Skip this device if you are a beginner climber who has not received proper training in belaying and rappelling techniques, or if you require a device specifically designed for dynamic rope belaying rather than static rappelling and lock-offs. Always ensure compatibility with your rope diameter and practice in low-risk situations first.
