How do I know if these 6.5-inch foam rings will fit my speaker?

Measure your speaker's cone. These rings have an outer diameter of 165mm (6.44 inches), an outer bubble diameter of 150mm (5.85 inches), an inner bubble diameter of 118mm (4.6 inches), and an inner diameter of 110mm (4.29 inches). Ensure these dimensions match your speaker's requirements for a proper seal and sound quality.

What is the best way to install these speaker foam edges?

Clean the speaker cone thoroughly to remove old glue and foam residue. Apply a suitable speaker adhesive (not included) to the speaker cone edge, then carefully place the new foam surround, ensuring it is centered. Press gently to secure and allow the adhesive to cure completely before testing.

Are these foam rings durable for frequent use?

Yes, the foam is designed to be pliable, anti-aging, and wear-resistant, helping to maintain sound quality for low-pitch sounds. While foam is a consumable part, these rings offer good durability for their intended purpose of speaker repair.

Can I use these foam rings for car audio subwoofers?

Yes, these foam rings are suitable for DIY speaker repair and can be used for car audio subwoofers, home audio systems, or personal audio systems, provided they match the 6.5-inch speaker size and require a foam surround replacement.

What if my speaker is not 6.5 inches?

These specific foam rings are designed for 6.5-inch (165mm) speakers. If your speaker has a different size, you will need to find foam surrounds that match its exact outer diameter and other dimensions to ensure proper fit and function.

Not recommended for users seeking pre-assembled speaker units or complex electronic components.

How to use

Prepare the Speaker Cone — Carefully remove the old foam surround and any remaining glue residue from the speaker cone and frame. Ensure the surface is clean and smooth for optimal adhesion of the new ring.
Apply Adhesive — Apply a thin, even layer of speaker repair adhesive (sold separately) to the edge of the speaker cone where the foam will attach. Avoid using too much adhesive, which can seep through the foam.
Attach Foam Surround — Center the new foam surround over the speaker cone and gently press it onto the adhesive-covered edge. Ensure it is properly aligned and sealed all the way around. Allow the adhesive to cure fully as per its instructions.
