How do I install Xpand No Tie Elastic Shoe Laces?

Installation involves threading the 132cm (52") elastic laces through your shoe's eyelets. Secure the desired tension using the included patented Lace Anchors, which lock the laces in place. For a clean finish, attach the Lace End Clips if using the 'visible mode'. Once set, you can slip your shoes on and off without further adjustment.

Are Xpand laces suitable for all shoe types in India?

Xpand laces are designed for versatility and can be used with most sneakers, athletic shoes, boots, and casual footwear. Their elastic nature and secure anchoring system adapt well to various shoe designs. For very formal dress shoes or specialized athletic footwear requiring rigid support, traditional laces might offer a different aesthetic or functional preference.

How do Xpand laces compare to traditional shoelaces for daily use?

Xpand laces offer superior convenience by eliminating the need to tie and re-tie shoes. They provide a consistent, comfortable fit that adapts to your foot's movement, reducing strain. Traditional laces can loosen throughout the day, requiring frequent adjustments. Xpand's system is ideal for quick on-and-off, saving time and effort for all users, from kids to athletes.

What is the benefit of the stretch-fit comfort with Xpand laces?

The elastic polyester material of Xpand laces molds to your feet, providing a customized and comfortable fit that supports natural foot movement. This stretch-fit design helps eliminate pressure points and discomfort often associated with traditional, rigid laces. It ensures your shoes feel secure yet flexible, enhancing comfort during extended wear or physical activity.

How do I choose the right size Xpand laces?

The Xpand system comes with two 132cm (52") elastic laces designed to expand to over 100 inches. This length is intended to fit most adult and children's shoe sizes universally. The key is the adjustable tension achieved with the Lace Anchors, allowing you to customize the fit for your specific shoe and foot, ensuring a secure and comfortable experience.

Can Xpand laces be used for sports and athletic activities?

Yes, Xpand laces are designed to be versatile and sport-ready. They are suitable for triathlons, running, hiking, training, and other athletic pursuits. The secure, locked-in tension reduces the risk of laces coming undone during intense activity, allowing you to focus on performance and agility without distraction.

What is the advantage of Xpand laces for children or individuals with mobility issues?

Xpand laces significantly simplify the process of putting on and taking off shoes, making them ideal for children learning to dress themselves or for individuals with limited fine motor skills, disabilities, or conditions like autism. They provide stress-free footwear, promoting independence and ease of use for all family members.

Why choose this product

The Science of Effortless Footwear

Xpand's patented elastic lacing system is engineered for ultimate convenience and comfort. Unlike standard cotton laces that loosen and require constant re-tying, Xpand's unique construction uses elastic polyester to create a secure, adaptive fit. The included Lace Anchors allow you to set and lock your preferred tension, ensuring your shoes remain perfectly snug from morning to night. This stretch-fit technology not only simplifies putting on and taking off shoes but also reduces foot strain by allowing natural movement. Originally funded by thousands on Kickstarter and Indiegogo, Xpand has proven its innovative approach to footwear accessibility and performance.

Who Benefits Most & Who Should Consider Alternatives

These laces are ideal for children learning to dress independently, athletes seeking quick transitions, seniors or individuals with limited mobility, and anyone who values convenience. They are perfect for active lifestyles, including running, hiking, and training, providing a secure fit that moves with you. However, for those who prefer the traditional aesthetic of tied laces or require very specific, rigid shoe support for specialized athletic footwear, traditional laces might be preferred. If you need laces for formal dress shoes where a specific knot is part of the style, these might not be the best fit.

How to use

Thread the Laces — Take one 132cm (52") Xpand elastic lace and thread it through the eyelets of your shoe, starting from the bottom. You can choose to use the 'stealth mode' (hidden ends) or 'visible mode' (ends outside).
Install Lace Anchors — Once threaded, pull the laces to achieve your desired tension. Insert the patented Lace Anchors onto the laces to lock them securely in place, ensuring a perfect, adjustable fit that won't loosen.
Secure End Clips (Visible Mode) — If using the 'visible mode', attach the Lace End Clips to the ends of the laces for a clean, finished look. Trim excess lace if necessary before securing the clips.
Slip On and Go — With the tension set and anchors in place, you can now easily slip your shoes on and off without needing to tie or untie them, enjoying consistent comfort and security all day.
