• Prepare Your Surface — Ensure your canvas or prepared panel is primed with gesso or an oil-priming ground. This prevents the oil from degrading the surface and ensures good adhesion for the paint.
• Apply Paint — Squeeze a small amount of Permanent Rose paint onto your palette. Use a brush or palette knife to apply the paint thickly or thin it with linseed oil or solvent for desired consistency and transparency.
• Blend and Layer — Oil paint dries slowly, allowing ample time for blending colors and creating smooth transitions. Apply subsequent thin layers only after the previous layer has dried to the touch (approx. 24 hours).
• Clean Up — Clean your brushes and tools immediately after use with a suitable artist's solvent (like turpentine or odorless mineral spirits) followed by soap and water.
