• Prepare Your Surface — Ensure your canvas, paper, or primed wood panel is clean and dry. For oil paints, a properly primed surface is crucial to prevent the oil from damaging the support and to ensure good adhesion. Apply a layer of gesso or oil primer if needed.
• Apply the Paint — Squeeze the desired amount of Permanent Green Deep onto your palette. Use a palette knife or brush to apply the paint. You can use it thickly for impasto effects or thin it with linseed oil or turpentine for glazes and finer details.
• Mix and Blend — This single-pigment color mixes cleanly with other oil paints to create a wide range of greens. Experiment with adding white for lighter shades or other colors to achieve custom hues. Remember that oil paints have a longer working time, allowing for extensive blending.
• Clean Up — Clean your brushes and tools immediately after use with a solvent such as turpentine or mineral spirits. Once cleaned, wash them thoroughly with soap and water. Ensure all paint tubes are securely capped after use.
