What is the difference between phosphor bronze and 80/20 bronze acoustic strings?

Phosphor bronze strings deliver a warmer, mellower tone and tend to hold their sound over time, while 80/20 bronze strings produce a brighter, crisper tone when freshly installed. The choice depends on the tonal character you prefer for your playing style. The AC112 strings feature a bronze-plated finish.

Which gauge should a beginner choose for acoustic guitar strings?

Beginners often start with extra-light or custom-light gauges because they require less finger pressure and are easier to fret. The Thomastik-Infeld AC112 set features a custom light gauge (0.012-0.059), making it a comfortable choice for those building finger strength or for players who prefer a lighter touch.

Are Thomastik-Infeld AC112 strings coated?

Yes, the Thomastik-Infeld AC112 Plectrum Series strings are coated. This coating helps to resist corrosion and maintain their tone for longer periods, which is particularly beneficial in humid Indian climates.

How long do Thomastik-Infeld AC112 strings typically last?

With their coated construction and quality materials, Thomastik-Infeld AC112 strings are designed for longevity. While actual lifespan varies with playing intensity and frequency, they generally offer a more durable tone compared to uncoated strings, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

Why choose this product

Precision-Crafted Tone for Indian Musicians

Thomastik-Infeld AC112 strings are engineered for a superior, balanced tone and comfortable playability. Unlike many local options, these feature a custom light gauge (0.012-0.059) and a durable alloy steel core with bronze plating. This combination ensures consistent pitch, enhanced sustain, and a richer sound that stands up to varied Indian climates. Imported directly, they offer a professional-grade experience for guitarists seeking authentic quality.

Ideal For Beginners & Professionals

These strings are perfect for guitarists who prefer a lighter touch, making them excellent for beginners building finger strength or for experienced players seeking comfort. They are well-suited for fingerstyle playing and general strumming. However, players seeking extremely heavy gauges for maximum volume or specific tonal characteristics might find these custom light strings too light. For those, exploring heavier gauge sets is recommended.

How to use

Remove Old Strings — Carefully remove the old strings one by one from your acoustic guitar. Loosen each string until it is slack, then unhook it from the bridge and tuning post.
Install New Strings — Thread the new Thomastik-Infeld AC112 strings through the bridge and secure them. Wind each string onto its corresponding tuning post, ensuring it is snug but not overly tight.
Tune and Stretch — Tune the guitar to standard pitch (EADGBe). As the strings settle, they will stretch and go out of tune. Gently stretch each string and retune until pitch stability is achieved.
Play and Enjoy — Once tuned and stable, play your guitar to enjoy the balanced tone and comfortable feel of the new Thomastik-Infeld strings. Regular playing helps settle them in.
