How do I choose the right firmness of therapy putty?

Therapy putty comes in graded resistance levels shown by color, typically ranging from extra-soft for gentle early-stage hand rehabilitation up to firm and extra-firm for advanced grip and finger strengthening. Start with a softer grade if you are recovering from injury or surgery and progress to firmer grades as strength improves; multi-level packs let you advance without buying separately.

Is exercise putty reusable and how do I care for it?

Yes, therapy putty is reusable many times. Knead it back into a ball after each session and store it in its sealed container away from heat and direct sunlight so it retains its resistance and does not dry out. Keep it away from carpet, hair, and fabric since it can pick up debris.

How to use Special Supplies sensory brushes for calming?

Apply even pressure with the brush using long strokes across the skin or clothes, following the Wilbarger Protocol. A few minutes of brushing can help provide tactile support, promoting relaxation, focus, and self-regulation for individuals experiencing stress or sensory challenges.

Are these sensory brushes safe for children?

Yes, these brushes are designed for kids and adults and are made with BPA-free, phthalate-free, and latex-free materials. However, they are not toys and should be used under adult supervision to prevent misuse, especially with very young children, due to the potential choking hazard if parts were to break off.

Can I use these brushes for occupational therapy at home?

Absolutely. These brushes are suitable for both personal and professional-grade use. They are designed for home use to help manage sensory challenges and can also be utilized by highly-trained occupational therapists following the Wilbarger Protocol to support patients in their practice.

What is the difference between these brushes and local Indian alternatives?

Special Supplies brushes are imported from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to specific therapeutic standards like the Wilbarger Protocol. Local alternatives may vary significantly in material composition, bristle flexibility, and pressure application, potentially lacking the specific tactile feedback required for effective sensory regulation. Our imported brushes offer a reliable, tested option.

How long will it take to receive my sensory brushes in India?

Your order will be shipped via ExpressBox with tracking. The estimated delivery time for your pincode will be displayed at checkout, typically ranging from 15-17 days. All customs duties and GST are pre-paid and included in the final price.

Why choose this product

Authentic Sensory Support from USA

Special Supplies therapy brushes are sourced from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners, ensuring genuine quality for your sensory needs. Unlike local alternatives that may vary in material or effectiveness, these brushes are designed to meet specific therapeutic standards. They offer a reliable way to provide deep pressure stimulation, crucial for calming and focus. Imported directly, they bypass the uncertainty of grey-market imports, giving you confidence in their efficacy for managing sensory challenges.

Ideal for Sensory Needs, Not for All

These brushes are excellent for individuals with sensory processing disorders, autism, ADD, or ADHD seeking calming tactile input. They are also beneficial for general stress relief and focus. However, they are not intended as toys and should not be used by very young children unsupervised due to choking hazards. Individuals with severe skin sensitivities or open wounds should consult a therapist before use. For those seeking a softer, less intense tactile experience, consider a different type of sensory tool.

How to use

Prepare the Brush — Remove one of the colored sensory brushes from its packaging. Ensure the bristles are clean and free from any debris before use.
Apply Pressure — Using the ergonomic handle, apply even pressure with the brush. Drag or push it across the skin or over clothing using long, firm strokes.
Follow Protocol — For therapeutic benefits, follow the principles of the Wilbarger Protocol. A few minutes of consistent brushing can help provide calming stimulation and promote relaxation.
Store Properly — After use, knead the brush back into a ball and store it in its original container or a sealed bag away from heat and direct sunlight to maintain its resistance and prevent drying.
