• Measure Your Dog's Neck — Use a soft measuring tape to measure the circumference of your dog's neck where the collar will sit, typically snug behind the ears. Ensure you can fit two fingers comfortably between the tape and the neck.
• Adjust Collar Links — The Starmark collar comes with adjustable links. Remove or add links as needed to achieve a snug but comfortable fit. The collar should lie high on the neck, just below the ears, and the prongs should rest against the dog's neck.
• Fit and Secure the Collar — Fasten the secure snap closure. Check the fit again to ensure it's not too tight or too loose. The collar should not rotate freely around the neck, nor should it be so tight that it restricts breathing or causes discomfort.
• Begin Supervised Training — Use the collar during supervised training sessions for behavior modification. Apply gentle leash pressure as needed to guide your dog, reinforcing commands. Always use positive reinforcement alongside the training collar.
