How to choose the right grit for sanding wood?

For wood, use coarse grits (40-80) for heavy material removal like old finishes. Medium grits (120-180) are for smoothing between layers. Fine grits like these 600-grit discs are for final finishing before sealing or polishing.

Will these 3-inch sanding discs fit my random orbital sander?

These are 3-inch discs. Ensure your random orbital sander's backing pad also matches this diameter and has a compatible hook-and-loop system. These discs do not have holes for dust extraction, so check if your sander requires them.

What is the difference between 600 grit and coarser grits?

Coarser grits (e.g., 40-80) remove material quickly, ideal for shaping or stripping. Finer grits like 600 grit are for smoothing and polishing, creating a very fine surface finish. They remove very little material but refine the surface significantly.

Can I use these sanding discs for metal or paint?

While listed for general use, these 600-grit discs are best for fine finishing on wood, leather, stones, and glass. For metal or paint removal, coarser grits are typically needed. For paint finishing, these might be suitable for very light scuffing or polishing after initial sanding.

Why choose this product

Precision Sanding with Premium Abrasives

These 3-inch, 600-grit sanding discs are engineered with premium aluminum oxide, a material valued for its hardness and consistent abrasive properties. This ensures a fine, uniform finish on delicate materials like wood, leather, and glass. The hook-and-loop system guarantees a secure fit and effortless disc changes, crucial for maintaining workflow on detailed projects. Imported directly, these discs offer a reliable alternative to local options, ensuring quality without compromise.

Ideal for Fine Finishing, Not for Heavy Stripping

These 600-grit discs are perfect for smoothing surfaces, removing light imperfections, and preparing materials for polishing or sealing. They are best suited for woodworking, leather crafts, and finishing stones or glass. However, they are not designed for heavy material removal or aggressive stripping of paint or rust; for such tasks, coarser grits (40-80) would be more appropriate. If you require heavy-duty sanding, consider a different grit range.

How to use

Select the Right Sander — Ensure your random orbital sander, drill grinder, or rotary tool is compatible with 3-inch discs and has a hook-and-loop backing pad. Check if dust extraction is needed, as these discs have no holes.
Attach the Disc — Align the disc's hook-and-loop backing with the sander's pad and press firmly. Ensure it is centered and securely attached to prevent slippage during operation.
Sand the Surface — Apply light to moderate pressure and move the sander in a consistent pattern over the surface. For fine finishing, use a steady motion and avoid excessive pressure to prevent damage.
Change or Remove Disc — After use or when the grit becomes dull, carefully peel the disc off the sander's pad. Clean the pad and attach a new disc as needed for your project.
