• Prepare the Ink Cartridge — Unpack the Schneider Ray Fountain Pen and locate the included royal blue ink cartridge. Gently remove the protective cap from the cartridge if present. Align the cartridge with the ink opening at the pen's section and press firmly until it clicks into place.
• Prime the Nib — Hold the pen vertically with the nib pointing upwards. Gently tap the pen's section against a soft surface a few times to encourage ink flow. Then, hold the pen nib-down over a piece of scrap paper and allow a small drop of ink to fall onto the paper to prime the nib.
• Write and Maintain — Uncap the pen and begin writing. For best results and to prevent ink drying, always replace the cap securely after each use. Store the pen horizontally or nib-up when not in use. Refill or replace the ink cartridge when it runs low.
