How do you customize the pluckable foam interior for a specific handgun?

Pluckable foam is pre-scored into small removable cubes; simply lay your gear on top, trace the perimeter with chalk or pins, and pull out the required cubes to create a snug, custom-fit recess for your equipment and spare magazines. This ensures a secure fit for firearms or sensitive electronics.

Can this hard case be locked with standard padlocks for secure transport?

Yes, quality hard cases feature dedicated padlock eyelets on the outer rim that accommodate standard key or combination padlocks to keep contents fully secured during transit and storage. This Pelican case is designed for secure transport of firearms and valuables.

Is this Pelican case truly waterproof and dustproof for Indian conditions?

Yes, the Pelican 1170 case is IP67 rated, meaning it is protected against dust ingress and can withstand submersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. This makes it ideal for India's humid climate and monsoon season, safeguarding your gear from moisture and environmental contaminants.

How does the Pelican 1170 case compare to local storage solutions in India?

The Pelican 1170 offers superior protection with its unbreakable polycarbonate shell, watertight seal, and military-grade standards. Local alternatives often lack certified IP ratings and robust construction, making them less reliable against extreme impact, water, and dust. This imported case provides peace of mind for valuable firearms or electronics.

Why choose this product

Unrivaled Protection for Valuables

Pelican cases are legendary for their extreme durability. Unlike many local storage boxes, this case is built with an unbreakable polycarbonate shell and an O-ring seal, offering true IP67 watertight and dustproof protection. It meets military standards, meaning it can withstand harsh conditions, impacts, and temperature extremes that would destroy lesser containers. This ensures your firearms, sensitive electronics, or valuable equipment remain perfectly preserved, whether stored at home or transported across India's diverse climates.

Ideal for Indian Conditions & Secure Transport

This case is perfect for Indian buyers needing robust protection. Its airtight and watertight seal (IP67) guards against humidity and dust, crucial for preventing rust on firearms or damage to electronics. The customizable foam interior secures items during travel. For secure transport, it features double throw latches and padlock hasps. While local cases might offer basic protection, this imported Pelican case provides certified, military-grade security and durability, ensuring your gear is safe from the elements and accidental damage.

How to use

Prepare Foam Insert — Lay your item (firearm, camera, etc.) on the Pick 'N' Pluck foam to trace its outline. Carefully pull out the pre-scored foam cubes to create a precise recess for your item and any accessories.
Secure Item Placement — Place your item into the custom-fit foam recess. Ensure it sits snugly and does not shift. Use the convoluted lid foam to fill any remaining space and provide top-layer cushioning.
Close and Seal Case — Close the lid and secure the double throw latches. If needed, insert standard padlocks through the designated eyelets for added security. The O-ring seal will engage to create a watertight barrier.
Equalize Pressure (if needed) — If traveling by air or experiencing significant atmospheric pressure changes, press the automatic pressure equalization valve button to release internal pressure and allow for easy opening.
