• Prepare Your Surface — Ensure your canvas, wood, or primed metal surface is clean, dry, and properly prepared. For oil painting, priming with gesso or an oil-compatible primer is recommended for optimal adhesion and to prevent the oil from sinking into the support.
• Apply the Paint — Squeeze the desired amount of PEBEO Fine Oil XL Prussian Blue onto your palette. Use a suitable brush or palette knife to apply the paint. You can use it directly for intense colour or mix it with Pébéo oil mediums for desired consistency and effects.
• Layer and Blend — Due to its quick-drying nature, you can overcoat or add new layers after approximately 3 hours. Work in thin layers first, allowing them to dry before applying thicker ones. Blend colours carefully to achieve desired transitions and shades.
• Drying and Varnishing — Allow the painting to dry thoroughly. While overpainting is possible after 3 hours, full curing takes 6 to 9 months. Once completely dry, you can apply a varnish to protect the artwork and enhance its finish.
