How do I install these clear acrylic hinges?

Installation is simple: clean the surface where you will apply the hinge, peel off the protective backing from the self-adhesive side, and press firmly onto the cabinet door and frame for 30 seconds. Ensure the surface is dry and free from dust for optimal adhesion. No additional tools or glue are required.

Will these hinges work for my Indian kitchen cabinets?

These hinges are designed for light-duty applications and small cabinets. For standard Indian kitchen cabinets, they are suitable for lightweight doors or decorative panels. Ensure the cabinet door and frame surfaces are clean and smooth for the adhesive to bond effectively. For heavier doors or frequent use, consider metal hinges.

What is the weight capacity of each hinge?

Each Sliverdew acrylic hinge has a load-bearing capacity of 0.06 kg. This makes them ideal for very lightweight items such as small jewelry boxes, craft projects, or small cabinet doors. They are not suitable for heavier applications.

Can I use these hinges on glass surfaces?

Yes, these clear acrylic hinges are excellent for use on glass surfaces, such as display cases or glass-fronted cabinets, as their transparency makes them virtually invisible. Ensure the glass surface is clean and dry before applying the self-adhesive backing for a secure fit.

How long will the adhesive last on these hinges?

The strong self-adhesive backing is designed for a secure hold on clean, smooth surfaces. For best results and longevity, avoid exposing the adhered hinges to excessive moisture or extreme temperature fluctuations, which can affect adhesive performance in humid Indian climates. Proper application on a clean surface is key.

Are these hinges durable enough for daily use?

These hinges are made from high-grade impact acrylic, which is resistant to breaking and corrosion. While durable for their intended lightweight applications, they are best suited for doors that are opened and closed with moderate frequency. For very high-traffic areas or heavy doors, metal hinges would offer greater long-term durability.

Why choose this product

Transparent Design for Seamless Integration

Unlike standard metal hinges, these clear acrylic continuous hinges blend seamlessly with your furniture or craft projects. Their transparent nature makes them ideal for glass display cases, jewelry boxes, or lightweight cabinet doors where aesthetics are paramount. The high-grade acrylic ensures they remain clear and resist yellowing or becoming brittle over time, maintaining a clean look for your creations. Each hinge is designed for light-duty applications, supporting up to 0.06kg, making them a practical choice for enhancing the functionality of small items without compromising visual appeal.

Ideal for Light-Duty DIY, Skip for Heavy Doors

These hinges are best suited for lightweight applications such as small craft boxes, jewelry cases, display stands, or very light cabinet doors. They are not designed for heavy-duty furniture, large cabinet doors, or applications requiring significant load-bearing capacity. If you need hinges for substantial weight or frequent, forceful operation, consider metal alternatives. For standard Indian cabinetry, these are best for decorative or infrequently used doors.

How to use

Prepare Surface — Clean the cabinet door and frame surfaces thoroughly with a dry cloth. Ensure they are completely free of dust, grease, and moisture for optimal adhesion. A clean surface is crucial for the self-adhesive backing to bond securely.
Apply Hinge — Peel off the protective backing from the self-adhesive side of the hinge. Carefully align the hinge on the door and frame, then press down firmly for at least 30 seconds to ensure a strong bond. Repeat for all hinges.
Test Functionality — Gently open and close the door to test the hinge's movement and alignment. Ensure the door swings smoothly and closes properly. For very light doors, allow 24 hours for the adhesive to cure fully before regular use.
