• Select Sofft Tool — Choose the appropriate Sofft Tool (e.g., sponge, applicator) for your desired application. For broad strokes, use a Sofft sponge; for finer details, a Sofft knife with a sponge or cloth tip works well.
• Load Color — Gently touch the Sofft Tool to the PanPastel surface to pick up color. A little goes a long way due to the high pigment concentration. Avoid excessive pressure to maintain the pastel's texture.
• Apply and Blend — Apply the loaded color directly to your surface. Blend by layering colors or using a clean Sofft Tool to create smooth transitions and painterly effects. PanPastels are fully erasable for corrections.
• Fix and Protect — Once your artwork is complete, apply a suitable artist's fixative to protect the pastel layers from smudging. Allow the fixative to dry completely before handling or framing.
