How is this Munchkin Flow Nipple Shield authentic vs. the version sold in Indian stores?

This Munchkin Flow Nipple Shield is sourced directly from authorized US retailers and brand partners, ensuring it is factory-sealed and imported per-order. It is the same SKU and formulation US buyers receive. All customs duties and GST are included in the displayed price, with tracked delivery via ExpressBox within 13-15 days.

Can I see the milk flow while using this nipple shield?

Yes, the Munchkin Flow Nipple Shield features a patented see-thru channel that allows you to visually confirm breast milk flow in real-time. This helps provide reassurance during feeding, especially for new mothers or during sleepy sessions.

Is this nipple shield comfortable for sore nipples?

Yes, the shield is made from thin, flexible, 100% food-grade silicone designed for comfort. It helps support skin-to-skin contact and can provide relief for sore nipples while assisting with latching.

What size nipple shield do I need?

This listing is for the 16mm size. Munchkin offers this nipple shield in 16mm, 20mm, 24mm, and 28mm sizes. You can use the included QR code or printable measuring directions to help find the right fit. Munchkin offers a sizing guarantee if the initial fit is incorrect.

How do I use the storage case?

The included storage case doubles as a steam sterilizer. Simply add water and place the shield inside, then follow the instructions for steam sterilization. It also keeps the shield clean and protected for home or travel use.

How often should I use the nipple shield?

The frequency of use depends on individual needs. Many mothers find it helpful during initial breastfeeding challenges, for sore nipples, or when baby has latch difficulties. It can be used for any feeding session where visual confirmation of milk flow or latch support is desired.

Are there any side effects of using a nipple shield?

Nipple shields are generally safe when used correctly. Potential concerns include a slight decrease in milk transfer if the latch isn't optimal or if the shield is the wrong size. The Munchkin Flow shield's design aims to minimize these by allowing visual flow confirmation and supporting proper latch.

How do I clean the nipple shield and channel?

After each use, clean the shield with warm, soapy water. Use the included cleaning syringe to flush the milk flow channel. Sterilize the shield using the provided steam sterilizing case before first use and regularly thereafter.

Why choose this product

Innovative Milk Flow Visualization

The Munchkin Flow Nipple Shield is engineered with a unique, patented see-thru channel that allows mothers to visually confirm breast milk flow during nursing. This feature offers unparalleled reassurance, especially during challenging feeding periods like sleepy sessions or post-illness recovery. Unlike standard nipple shields, this design provides concrete feedback, reducing anxiety and enhancing the breastfeeding experience. Crafted from ultra-thin, soft-touch, BPA-free food-grade silicone, it ensures maximum comfort and promotes natural skin-to-skin contact, making it suitable for newborns and aiding in latch development. The included starter kit with a steam sterilizing case and cleaning syringe adds convenience for home and travel.

Ideal For & Who Should Skip

This nipple shield is ideal for new mothers seeking visual confirmation of milk flow, experiencing sore or cracked nipples, or needing support for flat or inverted nipples. It's also beneficial for bottle-to-breast transitions and cluster feeding. Mothers who prefer a completely unassisted breastfeeding experience or have babies with specific latch issues not addressed by a shield may find it less essential. If a baby has severe oral restrictions, consult a lactation consultant before use. For those seeking a simple, effective tool to build feeding confidence, this shield is a valuable addition.

Clean and Sterilize — Before first use and after each feeding, wash the nipple shield, cleaning syringe, and storage case with warm, soapy water. Sterilize using the included steam sterilizing case.
