• Prepare the Surface — Ensure wood is dry, clean, and free of wax, grease, or old finishes. Sand smooth with fine sandpaper (220 grit), remove dust with a damp cloth, and let dry completely. Do not use steel wool.
• Apply First Coat — Stir Minwax Polycrylic well before and during use; do not shake. Apply a thin, even coat with a high-quality synthetic bristle brush, following the wood grain. Avoid over-brushing.
• Recoat and Finish — Let the first coat dry for at least 2 hours. Lightly sand with 220-grit sandpaper, remove dust, then apply a second coat. Repeat sanding and application for a third coat, recommended for optimal protection.
