• Introduce the Set — Unpack the 17 pieces, including wooden fruits, a knife, and storage crate. Explain that the fruits can be 'sliced' apart and put back together, introducing the concept of parts and a whole.
• Practice Cutting — Show the child how to use the wooden knife to 'cut' the fruits along the self-stick tabs. Encourage them to make the 'crunch' sound and then reassemble the fruit pieces.
• Engage in Role-Play — Encourage the child to serve pretend meals, count the fruit pieces, or sort them by type. This promotes imaginative role-play, social interaction, and reinforces early math skills.
• Store Safely — After play, guide the child to store all the fruit pieces and the knife neatly inside the sturdy wooden crate. This teaches tidiness and keeps all parts together for the next play session.
