Achieve Smoother Blends and Intricate Details
Liquitex Professional Effects Slow-Dri Fluid Retarder (118ml/4 fl oz) is a crucial additive for acrylic artists in India. It significantly extends the 'open' or working time of acrylic paints by up to 40%, preventing premature skinning on the palette and allowing for extended blending and detail brushwork. This binder-free fluid is particularly beneficial in humid Indian climates where paints dry faster, ensuring your colors remain workable for longer periods.
This retarder works by slowing down the evaporation of water from the acrylic paint. When mixed directly into the paint on your palette, it increases the time you have to manipulate the colors, achieve smooth gradients, and execute fine details without the paint drying too quickly. Artists can achieve more fluid transitions and avoid harsh brush marks, enhancing the overall quality of their artwork. It's recommended to add no more than 25% of the retarder to your paint to avoid weakening the paint film's stability, as it contains no binder.
While this product is designed to enhance the working properties of acrylics, it's important to note its specific function. It does not add color or alter the paint's inherent properties beyond drying time and viscosity. For artists seeking to extend their creative process and achieve superior blending results, this Liquitex retarder offers a professional solution. All customs duties and GST are included in the price, with delivery via ExpressBox tracked shipping to your pincode in 15-17 days.
Master Your Acrylics with Extended Open Time
Achieve seamless gradients and intricate details with Liquitex Professional Effects Slow-Dri Fluid Retarder. This USA-imported medium is specifically formulated to extend the drying time of your acrylic paints by up to 40%. Essential for artists in India's varied climates, it prevents paint from skinning over on the palette and allows for significantly longer blending times. Unlike standard acrylics that dry rapidly, this retarder gives you the control needed for complex techniques and smooth finishes. Mix it into your paint to maintain fluidity and workability, ensuring your creative vision is fully realized without compromise. All customs duties and GST are pre-paid, with delivery to your doorstep in 15-17 days.
Who Benefits Most & Who Should Consider Alternatives
This retarder is ideal for acrylic artists, students, and hobbyists who need more time to blend colors, create smooth transitions, or work on detailed pieces. It's particularly useful for artists working in warmer or more humid environments where acrylics dry exceptionally fast. If you frequently engage in techniques like glazing, wet-on-wet blending, or portraiture requiring subtle color shifts, this product will enhance your workflow. However, artists who prefer fast-drying acrylics for quick layering or impasto techniques might find the extended open time unnecessary. Also, ensure not to exceed the 25% recommended addition to maintain paint film integrity.
