Once cooled, this material will keep the shape of the item that was used to mold the shape into place. In its cooled state, it is very durable and light weight. It is used widely in thermoform holster making, cosplay costume creation, removable surface coverings, keel guard protectors, and much more.
• Color : Black | KYDEX Type V Texture: P1 Hair Cell: The texture applied to the surface of the Kydex V sheet is referred to as P1 “Hair Cell”. This is a reference to the size and shape of the texture grain and is common on many Kydex items seen in the marketplace. P1 is the most common texture for holsters, sheaths, and other carry items. The texture on Kydex V sheet is uniform across the surface of the material and produces a non-reflective, scratch resistant finish.

• Prepare Your Pattern — Score and cut a piece of Kydex V sheet slightly larger than the object you intend to mold. Ensure your workspace is well-ventilated and you have forming foam or a similar pressing tool ready.
• Heat the Sheet — Heat the Kydex V sheet in a convection oven or with a heat gun to the recommended temperature range of 300-375°F (143-190°C). Avoid direct flame contact to prevent damage.
• Mold and Cool — Once pliable, carefully place the heated sheet over your object. Use forming foam or a press to firmly mold the material around the object, ensuring a tight fit. Allow it to cool completely in position.
• Trim and Finish — After cooling, remove the molded piece. Trim any excess material with a scoring knife or saw. Sand the edges to your desired shape for a clean, professional finish.
