• Attach Reel to Rod — Slide the reel foot into the reel seat on your fishing rod. Tighten the reel seat's locking rings securely to ensure the reel is firmly attached and does not wobble during use.
• Load Fishing Line — Open the bail arm and thread your fishing line through the guides on the rod and then through the line roller on the reel. Tie your chosen line securely to the spool arbor using an appropriate knot, then close the bail arm.
• Set the Drag — Adjust the drag knob on the rear of the reel. A good starting point is to set the drag so that it just begins to yield line when a steady pull equivalent to the weight of your target fish is applied. Test by pulling line directly from the spool.
• Retrieve and Cast — Turn the handle to retrieve line, ensuring smooth operation. To cast, open the bail arm, hold the line with your finger, swing the rod forward, and release the line at the desired point. Close the bail arm after the lure lands.
