How to choose the right guitar pick gauge?

For beginners, a thin-to-medium gauge (0.46-0.73mm) is often recommended for strumming. For lead playing and precision, heavier gauges like this 1.0mm Ultex pick offer more control and a sharper attack, ideal for advanced techniques.

What is the difference between Ultex and other pick materials like Tortex or Nylon?

Ultex picks are known for their exceptional durability and bright, clear tone, often described as similar to traditional tortoiseshell but more resilient. Tortex offers a warmer tone and good grip, while Nylon is flexible with a matte finish. Ultex provides a unique combination of stiffness, brightness, and wear resistance.

Are Jim Dunlop Ultex picks good for heavy playing styles?

Yes, Jim Dunlop Ultex picks are specifically designed for aggressive playing conditions. Their durable, aeronautical-grade material resists wear and tear, ensuring they maintain their tone and integrity even with heavy strumming or fast picking.

How to buy original Jim Dunlop guitar picks in India?

To ensure you receive original Jim Dunlop guitar picks, purchase from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners like CrowCrowCrow. We import them directly, ensuring they are factory-sealed and authentic, with all customs duties and GST included in the price.

Can I use these 1.0mm picks for strumming?

While 1.0mm is considered a heavy gauge, ideal for lead playing and articulation, it can also be used for strumming. It will provide a firmer feel and a brighter attack compared to lighter picks, which some players prefer for a more defined strumming sound.

The advanced Ultex material, inspired by aeronautical-grade components, offers unparalleled durability and a unique tonal profile. These picks project every note with exceptional brightness and articulation, allowing you to cut through any mix. Unlike common local picks that may wear down quickly or offer a duller tone, Ultex provides a consistent, high-volume output that serious players rely on. Experience the difference that professional-grade materials make in your playing.

Ideal for Advanced Guitarists

These 1.0mm Ultex triangle picks are best suited for guitarists who play with precision and power. If you engage in fast single-note runs, complex arpeggios, or heavy riffing, the firm gauge and sharp attack will enhance your articulation. Players who experience rapid pick wear with standard materials will find Ultex a long-lasting solution. Skip these if you prefer a very flexible pick for light strumming or a softer, warmer tone, as the 1.0mm Ultex offers a stiffer, brighter response.
