How to choose the right guitar pick gauge?

Guitar pick gauge affects tone and playability. Thin picks (under 0.70mm) are flexible for strumming, medium (0.70-0.90mm) offer a balance, and heavy picks (over 0.90mm) like these 1.14mm Gator Grips provide more attack and control for lead work. Experimentation is key to finding your preference.

What is the difference between celluloid and Delrin guitar picks?

Celluloid picks offer a warm, bright tone and smooth feel, similar to traditional tortoiseshell. Delrin picks, like these Gator Grips, are known for their durability, consistency, and a slightly brighter, more articulate attack. Delrin also offers better grip and wear resistance, making it ideal for intense playing.

Are Jim Dunlop Gator Grip picks good for Indian humidity?

Yes, the matte Delrin surface of Gator Grip picks provides excellent grip even in humid conditions, preventing slippage. While extreme humidity can affect some materials over long periods, Delrin is generally more stable than celluloid and offers reliable performance for Indian musicians.

Can I use these 1.14mm picks for strumming?

While 1.14mm picks are typically favored for lead guitar due to their stiffness and attack, they can be used for strumming if you prefer a heavier feel and a more pronounced, punchy tone. For lighter, more flexible strumming, a thinner gauge pick would be more suitable.

How to buy authentic Jim Dunlop guitar picks in India?

To ensure authenticity, purchase Jim Dunlop Gator Grip picks from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners like CrowCrowCrow. We import them directly, ensuring they are factory-sealed and genuine. All customs duties and GST are included in the price, with ExpressBox tracked delivery to your pincode.

What are the side effects of using guitar picks?

Guitar picks themselves do not have side effects. However, improper technique or using a pick that is too stiff for your playing style could potentially lead to hand fatigue or strain over extended periods. Ensure you use picks that match your comfort and playing needs.

What are the benefits of using Jim Dunlop Gator Grip picks?

The benefits include superior playing control due to the non-slip matte surface, a positive attack from the beveled edges, and a durable, consistent tone from the Delrin material. The 72-pack offers excellent value and long-term supply for dedicated guitarists.

Ideal For Lead Guitarists & Heavy Strummers

These 1.14mm picks are best suited for guitarists who play lead lines requiring sharp articulation or those who prefer a heavier pick for powerful strumming. Players who sweat heavily during performances or practice will benefit from the superior non-slip grip. Those seeking a very thin, flexible pick for light strumming or a specific bright, jangly tone might find these too stiff. For players prioritizing extreme flexibility or a softer, warmer tone, alternative gauges or materials might be more suitable.

How to use

Select Your Pick — Choose the Jim Dunlop Gator Grip® 1.14mm pick from your 72-pack. This heavy gauge is ideal for lead playing and precise articulation, offering a distinct attack and control.
Grip the Pick — Hold the pick firmly but comfortably between your thumb and index finger. The matte surface provides a secure, non-slip grip, even if your hands are slightly damp.
Strum or Pick — Use the beveled edge to strike the guitar strings. Experience a smooth attack and a positive, beefy tone. Adjust your angle and pressure for desired articulation and volume.
Play with Confidence — Enjoy sustained playing sessions thanks to the durable Delrin material and the reliable grip. The 72-pack ensures you always have a high-quality pick ready for practice or performance.
