Why choose this product

Authentic USA Formulation for Vibrant Art

Grumbacher Academy Acrylics are crafted with a commitment to quality, ensuring each color, like this Hooker's Green Hue, offers exceptional pigment load and lightfastness. This means your artwork will stand the test of time, resisting fading even in India's bright climate. Unlike many local options, this paint is formulated for superior tinting strength, allowing for more creative mixing and application. It's sourced directly from authorized US retailers, guaranteeing you receive an original product. The gloss finish adds a professional sheen, enhancing the visual appeal of your creations. This paint is designed to be a reliable tool for artists who value both performance and authenticity in their supplies.

Ideal for Hobbyists, Who Should Consider Alternatives

This paint is perfect for art students, DIY crafters, and hobbyists looking for high-quality, affordable acrylics with excellent lightfastness and tinting strength. It's suitable for canvas, paper, wood, and plastic. However, if you require extremely heavy body consistency for palette knife techniques or need paints specifically certified for food-contact surfaces, you might explore specialized mediums. For artists needing extreme permanence on outdoor surfaces or requiring paints with zero VOCs, alternative formulations might be more appropriate.

How to use

Prepare Your Surface — Ensure your chosen surface (canvas, paper, wood, fabric, plastic) is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease. For porous surfaces like canvas or wood, consider applying a primer or gesso for better adhesion and a smoother finish.
Apply the Paint — Squeeze a small amount of Grumbacher Academy Acrylic Paint onto your palette. Use a brush or palette knife to apply the paint to your surface. Mix with water or acrylic mediums for desired consistency and effects.
Layer and Blend — Acrylics dry quickly, allowing for layering of colors. Build up opacity or create depth by applying subsequent coats once the previous layer is dry to the touch. Blend colors while wet for smooth transitions.
Clean Up — Clean your brushes, palette knives, and other tools immediately after use with soap and water. Dried acrylic paint can be difficult to remove, so prompt cleaning is essential for tool longevity.
