Will this US extension cord fit my Indian appliance or wall socket?

No, this cord uses a North American Type B (NEMA 5-15P) plug designed for 120V systems. Indian wall sockets operate on 230V and have different configurations. While the bare-end terminals can be adapted by a qualified electrician for hardwired 230V appliances if amperage and gauge match, direct plug-in is not possible. Always verify compatibility before purchase.

What is the amperage and wattage capacity of this extension cord?

This 16/3 SJTW contractor-grade extension cord is rated for a maximum of 13 amps and 1625 watts. It is recommended for heavy-duty equipment and tools that fall within these specifications. Exceeding these limits can cause overheating and potential hazards.

Is this extension cord suitable for outdoor use in India?

Yes, this cord is specifically designed for outdoor use and is resistant to moisture, abrasion, and sunlight. Its durable SJTW construction makes it suitable for various weather conditions encountered in India, providing reliable power for outdoor equipment.

How do I know if the cord is powered on?

This extension cord features a lighted end. When the cord is properly connected to a live power source, the end will illuminate, clearly indicating that it is receiving power. This feature enhances safety and convenience, especially in dimly lit areas.

What does 'contractor grade' mean for this extension cord?

Contractor grade signifies a higher level of durability and reliability compared to standard household extension cords. These cords are built to withstand rougher handling, frequent use, and challenging environmental conditions, making them suitable for professional job sites and demanding applications.

Can I use this extension cord for EV charging?

No, this specific extension cord is explicitly stated as NOT suitable for use with an EV charger. EV chargers require specialized cords with specific safety ratings and higher amperage capabilities. Always use cords designed and rated for EV charging to ensure safety and proper function.

Why choose this product

Engineered for Extreme Conditions

This contractor-grade extension cord is built to withstand harsh environments. Its SJTW rating signifies its suitability for outdoor use, resisting moisture, abrasion, and UV exposure. Unlike standard cords that degrade quickly, this heavy-duty cable maintains its integrity, ensuring consistent power delivery for your tools even in challenging Indian climates. The lighted end adds a crucial safety feature, confirming power status at a glance.

Ideal for Heavy-Duty Tools, Not for EV Charging

This cord is perfect for powering heavy-duty equipment like generators, power tools, and outdoor lighting, handling up to 13 amps. However, it is NOT suitable for EV chargers. If you need a cord for sensitive electronics or high-draw appliances like ovens, ensure the amperage and plug type match your specific needs. For standard Indian 230V appliances, consult a qualified electrician for safe, hardwired integration.

How to use

Verify Appliance Compatibility — Check your heavy-duty tool or equipment's power requirements (amperage and wattage). Ensure it does not exceed the cord's 13A/1625W rating. Confirm the appliance's plug type is compatible with a standard US Type B (NEMA 5-15P) receptacle.
Connect to Power Source — Plug the cord's male end into a suitable outdoor-rated power outlet or generator. The lighted end will illuminate, confirming the cord is receiving power and ready for use.
Connect Equipment — Plug your heavy-duty tool or equipment into the female end of the extension cord. Ensure the connection is secure. The cord's durability and weather resistance make it suitable for outdoor applications.
Disconnect and Store — When finished, unplug your equipment first, then disconnect the extension cord from the power source. Store the cord in a dry place to prolong its lifespan, away from excessive heat or sharp objects.
