Gitzo G1220.129LB XL Stainless Steel Long Spike for Monopod | Secure Grip for Uneven Terrain

Unwavering Stability on Any Surface

When shooting outdoors, uneven terrain can compromise stability. The Gitzo G1220.129LB XL spike digs into grass, mud, or sand, creating a solid anchor point. This prevents accidental slips that could damage your camera or ruin a shot. Unlike standard rubber feet that can sink or slide, this long steel spike offers dependable footing, ensuring your monopod stays put even in challenging conditions. It's an essential upgrade for landscape, wildlife, or event photographers working away from paved surfaces.

Who It's For & Who Should Skip It

This spike is ideal for photographers using Gitzo monopods who frequently shoot on soft, uneven, or slippery ground such as grass, mud, sand, or loose gravel. It's perfect for outdoor events, wildlife photography, or landscape shoots where a stable base is crucial. Skip this if you primarily shoot on hard, flat surfaces like concrete, pavement, or indoor floors, where the spike offers no advantage and could potentially scratch surfaces. Standard monopod feet are sufficient for such environments.
