What thread size and standard does this fitting nut use?

This kit includes brass threaded inserts in metric sizes M2, M2.5, M3, M4, M5, and M6. These are standard metric threads designed for use with corresponding metric screws. Always ensure the screw size matches the insert's internal thread specification for a secure fit.

What material is this fitting nut made from?

The FFVRVSS threaded inserts are made from premium lead-free brass, known for its excellent thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and strength. This material is ideal for heat-setting into plastics and withstands high temperatures during installation.

How do I install these threaded inserts?

Installation is simple: print or drill a pilot hole, attach the correct heat-set tip to your soldering iron (heated to 200-400°C depending on plastic), press the insert straight into the hole until flush, and hold for 3-5 seconds while the plastic cools and locks it in place.

Are these threaded inserts suitable for use in India?

Yes, these brass threaded inserts are imported from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners and are suitable for use in India. All customs duties and GST are included in the listed price, and they are shipped via ExpressBox for reliable delivery across Indian pincodes.

What is the best use for these threaded inserts?

These inserts are best for creating strong, reusable threaded connections in 3D printed parts and other thermoplastics. They are ideal for electronics enclosures, circuit board mounting, toy assembly, furniture repair, and automotive plastic casings where a secure, removable screw connection is needed.

Can I use these inserts with any type of plastic?

These inserts are universally compatible with most common thermoplastics, including PLA, PETG, ABS, PPS, PP, and TPU. The installation temperature should be adjusted based on the specific plastic's melting point for optimal results.

Why choose this product

Engineered for Durability and Precision

The FFVRVSS Brass Threaded Inserts are crafted from premium lead-free brass, ensuring excellent thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. This material choice guarantees longevity and strength, withstanding temperatures above 300°C. The precise threads and 45-degree spiral knurling are specifically designed to resist stripping and pull-out, providing a significantly stronger and more reliable connection than standard straight-thread inserts. This focus on material science and design ensures your 3D printed projects maintain structural integrity over time.

Ideal for Makers, Skip if Using Metal-to-Metal

This kit is perfect for 3D printing enthusiasts, hobbyists, and DIYers needing to add durable threads to plastic components like electronics enclosures, circuit boards, and toy assemblies. It works seamlessly with PLA, PETG, ABS, and other thermoplastics. However, these inserts are designed exclusively for embedding into plastic. If you require threaded connections between metal parts or for high-pressure hydraulic systems not involving plastic, these brass inserts would not be suitable.

How to use

Prepare Pilot Hole — Print or drill a pilot hole in your plastic part. The hole diameter should be slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the brass insert for a snug fit.
Heat Soldering Iron — Attach the matching heat-set tip to your soldering iron. Heat the iron to the appropriate temperature: 200-250°C for PLA, or 350-400°C for PETG/ABS.
Insert and Secure — Align the brass insert with the pilot hole and press it straight in using the heated tip. Hold steady for 3-5 seconds while the plastic melts and cools, locking the insert firmly in place.
