• Isolate Strings with Mutes — Use the temperament strip to mute the outer strings of a unison pair. Then, use the rubber mutes to silence the other strings in the same note group, leaving only the string you intend to tune exposed.
• Adjust Pitch with Tuning Hammer — Insert the star-tipped tuning hammer onto the tuning pin of the exposed string. Turn the pin gently, listening to the pitch. Use the hammer's flexibility to reach pins at various angles, adjusting until the string is in tune.
• Repeat and Refine — Once the first string is tuned, move the temperament strip and rubber mutes to isolate the next string in the group. Repeat the process for all strings, gradually tuning the entire piano to the desired pitch.
