Add DANIEL SMITH's Luminescent Magic to Your Art
DANIEL SMITH Extra Fine Watercolors are celebrated for their unsurpassed purity and permanence, offering artists a world of color. This Duochrome Arctic Fire shade, part of the Luminescent Watercolors collection, is designed to capture nature's optical surprises. It alternates between two distinct colors, shifting from reflective green to violet depending on the light, making it perfect for subjects with iridescence or a pearly sheen.
Made from mica pigment with thin, transparent particles coated in reflective metal oxides, Luminescent Watercolors show best as glazes over darker colors or mixed with others to add a subtle glow. This paint boasts excellent lightfastness and is transparent with a granulating quality. It conforms to ASTM D4236, ensuring safety for artistic use.
Imported directly from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners, this 15ml tube guarantees authentic DANIEL SMITH quality. All customs duties and GST are included in the price. Delivery is via ExpressBox, providing a clear timeline for your art supplies.
Capture Nature's Iridescence
DANIEL SMITH Luminescent Watercolors, like Duochrome Arctic Fire, are engineered to replicate the subtle optical effects found in nature – the sheen of hummingbird feathers, the glow of sunset clouds, or the sparkle of ice. Unlike standard paints, these utilize mica pigments coated with metal oxides to create a unique interplay of color and light. This 15ml tube offers exceptional purity and permanence, ensuring your artwork retains its captivating luminescence. Imported directly from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners, you receive authentic DANIEL SMITH quality.
Who Should Use It & Who Should Skip
This Duochrome Arctic Fire watercolor is ideal for artists who want to add special, shifting color effects to their work, particularly for subjects with natural iridescence or metallic sheens. It's excellent for fantasy art, wildlife illustration, or adding subtle highlights. Artists seeking opaque, single-color pigments or those who prefer non-granulating paints might find this less suitable. If you primarily paint in a very traditional, matte style without special effects, this might be an experimental addition rather than a core color.
