• Carefully detune and remove the old bass strings one by one from your instrument. Clean the fretboard and hardware while the strings are off. — Remove Old Strings
• Unpack one set of D'Addario XL Nickel strings. Feed the ball end into the bridge, then thread the string through the tuning post. Gently pull the string taut and begin winding it onto the post. — Install New Strings
• Tune the new strings to pitch. As the strings settle, they will stretch and go out of tune. Gently stretch each string by pulling it away from the fretboard and retune. Repeat this process until the tuning is stable. — Tune and Stretch
