• Insert the Probe — Carefully insert the 295mm (11.61in) stainless steel probe vertically into the center of your compost pile. Ensure the probe is fully submerged within the compost material for an accurate core temperature reading.
• Allow Reading to Stabilize — Wait a few minutes for the thermometer's needle to settle on the 50mm dial. This allows the internal temperature to equalize with the probe's measurement, providing a stable and reliable reading.
• Interpret Temperature Zones — Read the temperature displayed in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Compare the reading against the recommended zones on the dial (e.g., hot composting 55-70°C) to ensure your compost pile is actively decomposing and generating heat.
• Adjust and Monitor — Based on the temperature, adjust your compost management (e.g., add green materials for heat, turn the pile if too hot, or add moisture if dry). Continue monitoring regularly to maintain optimal conditions.
