• Prepare yerba mate or loose leaf tea — Fill your gourd or cup with 3/4 yerba mate or loose leaf tea. Use a spoon to push the leaves to one side, creating a mountain of tea.
• Add water & sit for infusion — Pour room temperature or cold water into the open space, wait 30 seconds to allow the leaves to absorb water, then insert the straw at the water side.
• Sip & refill — Begin sipping through the straw, adding hot (not exceeding 165°F) or cold water as desired. Repeat until the tea becomes tasteless.
