• Select the Right Fly — Open the magnetic fly box and choose a fly that imitates the insects or baitfish present in the water. Consider the size, color, and type (dry, wet, nymph) based on local conditions and target species.
• Attach Fly to Leader — Tie the selected fly securely to your fishing leader using an appropriate knot, such as a clinch knot or improved clinch knot. Ensure the knot is tight and the fly is positioned correctly.
• Cast and Present — Cast your line to the desired fishing spot. For dry flies, aim for a natural drift on the water's surface. For wet flies or nymphs, use a retrieve that mimics the movement of aquatic prey.
• Retrieve and Re-engage — When a fish strikes, set the hook with a gentle tug. After landing a fish or if the fly becomes waterlogged, gently dry the fly and reapply floatant if necessary before casting again.
