Bartovation Ammonia Test Strips are designed for detecting ammonia (NH3/NH4+) in water for industrial applications and bioreactors. These strips are calibrated at 0, 10, 25, 50, and 100 ppm, providing results in just seconds. They are not suitable for aquarium water testing, which requires a lower test range. The long plastic strip design keeps your fingers away from the solution and prevents staining, offering a convenient and safe testing method without expensive equipment or extra chemicals.
The test strip works by using two pads. The first pad creates an alkaline environment to convert ammonia/ammonium to ammonia. The second pad employs a hydrophobic material and indicators to detect the ammonia present. The color chart reads as ‘ppm ammonia-nitrogen’, not as ppm ammonia.
