• Prepare the Hammer Head — Remove the old handle and any remaining wedge material from the hammer head's eye. Clean the inside of the eye to ensure a snug fit for the new handle.
• Insert the Handle — Slide the new Vaughan hickory handle into the hammer head's eye. Ensure it is seated as deeply as possible. Mark the handle flush with the top of the eye, then remove it and saw off any excess length protruding above the mark.
• Secure with Wedges — Insert the provided wood wedge into the slot at the top of the handle. Then, carefully drive the two steel wedges into the wood wedge from the sides, expanding it to firmly secure the handle within the hammer head. Tap gently until tight.
