Achieve Cinematic Softness and Flattering Portraits
The Tiffen 72mm Glimmerglass 1/4 Diffusion Filter is designed to introduce a subtle highlight glow and a smoother overall look to your images and videos. It achieves this by creating a soft, clean halation around practical and specular light sources, while preserving the apparent sharpness and fine detail of the overall image. This effect is non-destructive, moderately muting bright colors and rolling softly into shadows, making it ideal for achieving a polished, cinematic aesthetic without invasive alterations.
This Grade 1/4 filter offers a balanced diffusion effect, adding gentle highlight bloom and slight contrast reduction. It is particularly beneficial for portraits, weddings, and video content, helping to deliver flattering skin tones and a more cinematic image quality. Photographers and filmmakers worldwide trust Tiffen's commitment to optical innovation for shaping their creative vision. The filter's distinctive sparkling appearance when viewed from the front can also help subjects feel more comfortable on camera.
Ensure compatibility by checking your camera lens for the 'ø' symbol followed by the millimeter size (e.g., ø58mm). This filter is for 72mm lenses. Imported from authorized US retailers and authorized brand partners, all customs duties and GST are included in the price. Your order will be shipped via ExpressBox with tracking, arriving in 12-14 days.
Tiffen's Optical Innovation for a Cinematic Look
Tiffen, a brand trusted globally for optical innovation, crafts the Glimmerglass 1/4 Diffusion Filter to deliver a specific cinematic effect. This filter creates a soft, clean halation around light sources, enhancing portraits and video with flattering skin tones and a polished aesthetic. Unlike local alternatives that might offer generic softening, the Glimmerglass provides a controlled diffusion that maintains apparent image sharpness and fine detail. Its unique construction ensures a non-destructive effect, moderately muting bright colors and rolling softly into shadows, allowing your creative vision to shine through with professional quality.
Ideal for Photographers Seeking a Refined Aesthetic
This filter is perfect for photographers and videographers aiming for a refined, cinematic look, especially in portraiture, weddings, and video content. It excels at softening harsh highlights and reducing contrast, which is beneficial for flattering skin tones and creating a dreamy atmosphere. However, if your work requires absolute, unadulterated sharpness and high contrast for technical documentation or specific artistic styles, a diffusion filter might not be suitable. For such needs, consider standard clear filters or specialized contrast-enhancing filters. This Glimmerglass is for those who want to add a touch of artistic softness and glow.
